What is the name for this type of (German?) splitting axe pattern?

I This is a splitting axe with wing-like projections flaring out from the cheeks (it's stamped "USM") that I think is probably 70s to 90s vintage. I picked it up at a yard sale here in Canada where they have been sold for a long time under the Garant brand name. Adler carries a similar version (but with a German style D eye). Other companies have also sold versions. I have tried to look it up in the past, but I can't find out a name for this pattern beyond specific brands (e.g. 'Super Splitter') or the overly generic "Spaltaxt" ("splitting axe" in German). I think the basic pattern is a originated in Germany but I am not sure. I called it a "Winged Spaltaxt" in my recent YouTube video
but I am interested if there's already an established name.
