I have seen it advertised in a few magazines and webpages. You know how you guys clip cell phones to your belt? Or PDA's?

Well this is a new system this company made that uses these tiny balls on the ends of steel cables and they snap into a piece that you clip on your belt.

Does anyone know the website? Anyone know what I am talking about?

I think what you are referring to is the Rivet system. Here is their website: http://www.rivetequipped.com/site_splash.html

I've wanted to get one ever since I saw it a few months ago, but I have yet to think of a way to adapt if for some kind of knife carry.

I kind of remember that Don "McGizmo" McLeish (http://dmcleish.com/links.html) had fiddled with it a while back, but couldn't find a cool use for it either. Hope this helps.

Looks interesting, but ... seems lightweight, physically and in terms of its social setting. Will it hold on a hike, or just flitting through a mall? Distribution through Radio Shack? ... leaves me out. (I'm tired of problems with their products and especially with their services.)

Yup looks like the Rivet is what I was thiking of, but for some reason I thought it was another company. I wonder if there isd only one company that has this idea or many?

The downside is you have to ruin your device to use it. I don't like adhesivesd or anything on my product. So say you want to use it with your cell phone, you have to attach a piece to the back of it. And it's probably never coming off.

I'm sure that adhesive is never coming off. You probably wouldn't want it to, anyway, or you'd constantly be worrying about dropping your phone.

Esav: the only place I've seen it for sale is at those cell phone kiosks in shopping malls. I've seen them here in Hawaii and in Anaheim and Las Vegas.
