What is the oddest task your 42 has been used for?

I think I remember something similar but oh well. So far I have been very reluctant in using this knife hard, but am starting to. But to answer my question I was making dinner for my GF on V-day (there is a first time for everything) and had to use it to cut some chives, I could not find a sharp knife and didn't want to ask , it was a surprise. It worked great, but the food wasn't. Oh well I will let her keep cooking.

I love Florida!

I've used mine(along with some needlenose plyers) for a little home surgery. I removed a fingernail. Just bored I guess.

I used mine to cut some 3 pair wire and open a hole in the sheetrock for a setback thermostat I was installing at me mudders house.............

I used mine as a grabber to get a chopstick behind the couch yesterday and the day before I used it to give me a hair cut.

...............................um....should I be concerned?........ I know that I dont usually remove my fingernails when I'm bored.......

Was at a birthday party for all my Aquarian friends (including my sweetie)and campmates from Burningman at a pretty crazy restaurant in the Santa Cruz mountains and I whipped out the BM42A did a basic horizontal opening and used it to cut the birthday cake! Agent 99 (our 6' goddess waitress) was so impressed she borrowed it to finish serving the cake

I was eating some pistachios last night, and used mine like a nutcracker to open a couple of closed shells.

...bought some roses for the girlfriend, with plans to arrange them myself (hey shut up, that saved me 50$ the florist would charge

). Well, anyone that knows anything about flowers knows you should cut the tip of the stems off under water... keeps them fresh longer. My 42S performed the job quite well

Roses should also have their stems cut at an angle.

Nothing wrong with roses. I have sixteen varieties growing in my yard and use my beater BM44 to prune them all the time. Then again, they don't call Portland "The Rose City" for no reason. These things grow like weeds here. Every time I arrange a nice bouquet for my lady friend, I can't help but think of the $100 I just saved.

BTW, I may not do as nice a job as a professional florist, but women like it better when a guy arranges the flowers himself. It adds that personal touch.

I use mine in place of the given cutlery at most restauraunts,as long as its not inapropriate (i.e dunkin donuts, policemans ball ect.) Ive gotten mine sharp enough to television cable, bundling wire, heavy packing tape and the like. Ive used it to open boxes, tighten bolts, strip wire, and CAREFULLY tighten screws.
