What is the real knife?

I've seen that one somewhere before... The lines look a lot like the Microtech Amphibian to me.

It looks familiat to me, but I thought it was a Tighe design.

It may not be a rip-off of any one design, but many knives, including legitimate originals, will resemble each other because the technology and esthetics of a given period have knifemakers working in a similar style.

That's one reason the Emerson CQC-7 or Strider SnG got so many people excited -- at the time they came out, there were no other knives like them.

It looks a little like a blacked out version of the new Kershaw Junkyard Dog, except with a stud instead of a flipper.

seems like I've seen that handle as a framelock on something with a different blade. The blade looks Lightfoot, and the handle kinda Tighe/Pirela. My first thought was also the amphibian, but it's not the same.

hey!

i got 2 of these. but its Mtech though. MT-05 or 08 or somethign like that.

dont really trust the liner lock. little easy goin.

never really used them either. just have them for acting like a mall ninja late at night in my room... after ive locked the door.

I think it's a copy of a Browning.

Um..... maybe not. Maybe it's not really a copy at all.

Well thanks for your answers guys. I think I'll get one to take a closer look at it (even though I hate to support maxam). I've seen and held one before, it was pretty heavy and the blade was really thick. I liked the feel except the liner lock was kinda thin. Thanks again.:D

This knife is actually an M-Tech MT005B. Blade is teflon coated with 440A steel and G10 handles, made in China. I have this knife and it's quite good for the money, but it's not what you'd call a primo quality knife. Still, if this is up to the M-Tech quality, you could do a lot, lot worse with some other Chinese knives.

It's possible that the Maxam also has a 440A blade, but if it doesn't say, plan for it to be a 420 blade. See here for more info.
