G'Day, It may have been addressed before and I cant find it,however what is the significance/story behind the Bank Of United States $1,000,000 in gold promise to pay Schrade Cutlery Corporation Note I found in my GDOT Stockman Series 1?....and more to the point..can I now Bank it? Any info appreciated. Hoo Roo:jerkit:

Considering there never has been a million dollar note, gold or otherwise (maximum is 100K, with Salmon Chase as the portrait), I'd say clever marketing.

Clever marketing maybe what there does not appear to be any connection to the GDOT Stockman.I have all the others in the series and none of the others had the note.I havn't won 'a find the note 'competition 33 years late have I??
Must be somebody knows or has one.Hoo Roo

I got hold of one of the GDOT Stockmans last year, in the base of the box was the remains of one of the notes, as described above, it's rather tattered,
and it looks as though it had been close to a heat source.

Larry303, Yes it would be good, if we can find out out the story line on this one.

...so did anyone ever find the story behind this note ,we all find in the GDOT 1. Senior Stockman?....Hoo Roo

Larry, I asked Dave today and he couldn't remember. Said that Uncle Henry and (I think) George Eck dreamed it up but couldn't remember the reason for it. If anything jars his memory I'll let you know.
