What is the specific term of this handle construction?

Definitely one of the most beautiful blade I have ever seen... Not sure how the maker made that handle construction? Is it made from a solid piece of nickelsilver? and what does it call?

I can't tell for certain, but kind of looks like a series of abalone insets. Not sure on the handle, it appears like there's a screw hole at the forefinger groove and a cap at the handle's butt.

The handle itself could could be made in a couple ways but that particular finishing detail is a silver wrap.
