What is the standard spacing for a small wheel attachment?

I'm about to make a small wheel attachment and would like it to be compatible with commerical wheels. I'd be grateful if someone could measure the distance from the bearings to the wheel, and also the diameter and width of the bearings on theirs. Thank you in advance!

They all vary. Bader, KMG, Reeder, online sellers, etc. all are different. It is best to pick a specific one and order one and then make your bar fit it. You want one with good grade bearings as the wheel will spin many times faster than you would think. A 1" small wheel will be running at 10,000 RPM on a 1750RPM grinder with a 6" drive wheel. You really want a VS grinder for small wheels or you will burn them up fast. I run mine at around 25% speed.

Thanks Stacey, that's the info I needed. I'm going to try to make my own small wheels but wanted to be able to fall back on commercial ones if mine end up bad.

There are a bunch of makers in your area. Borrow one and measure it. I would also borrow the mounting arm to see how the mount is made..
