Some got me confused here, Maybe someone can clarify.

Is every bushcraft knife a survival knife but not every survival knife a bushcraft knife?

Or the other way round?

a mora is a bushcraft knife but is it a survival knife? Would it be used to chop etc and do very heavy work?

A BUZE is a survival knife That can be used for very heavy work but can also do bush craft if needs be

I am even more confused.
Some people tend to think that a bushcraft knife= a woodcraft knife.

sorry for nagging:D

Two different animals.

I would actually say a survival knife is the one you have when you need it to survive. Could be a piece of glass or a machete.

But you are talking about the proto-typical SURVIVAL knife popularized by Rambo. These tend to be indestructible (some are and some just look like they are). They are made with the idea if you are ever buried in a wooden crate in a mining accident, you could actually dig your self out of the crate and mine shaft with just your knife. I believe this type of knife serves more of a psychological function of security. Even though I am teasing here, there are still some legitmate uses, where if the circumstances were just so, they would be a handy tool.

As far as Bushcraft goes, this is more of a hobby, where ex-survival types from when Y2K didn't happen, got tired of waiting for the apocalypse. They re-assessed the situation and said, "Hey, I love the outdoors, I love knives, I am pretty good at making shit."
Then some primitive types started pushing this woodcrafty- bushcraft skills set, and they said, "This is pretty fun." I have a new hobby and if the SHTF I still got my skills and my smaller more PC knife.

At least this is my little story.
