What is the tang on Ontario kukri?

Under that Keaton handle, what is the tang? Does it extend to the lanyard hole?

Yes, I believe it does. The lanyard hole gromet goes through the hole in the tang. The tang ends just past the lanyard hole. Someone, a while back, took an Ontario Spec-Plus SP50 handle off & it was like that as well.
