I was thinking of getting a Randall #14 and wanted to know the waiting list for such a knife to be grinded? Any good or bad points on this knife would be greatly appreciated.

Hunting? Don't be a wise guy, what do you hunt with a knife?

Name it!

Why not contact Randall directly through their website for your questions.

The Model 14 is a great knife. Contact Randall. If you just want a standard model, they just might have one in stock.

According to the brochure I rec'd from Randall last week, the delivery date is January 2002 for orders placed with them today. There are 2 options to shorten that:
1. Contact Randall as mentioned previously to see if they have what you want on the shelf.
2. Contact a Randall dealer (the factory can give you a list) and take advantage of their unsold orders. I did this recently for a leather handled Trout and Bird (Non-Catalogue). This could get you the knife in 60-90 days.

Funny you should mention it. I have had two #14's on order since last May and they are due to arrive this month. They have the border patrol handles and Nickel/silver guard. Blade steel is 440C.

Try Nordic Knives www.nordicknives.com

I think they have some #14s in stock

There are a bunch of Randall dealers listed in the back of Knives 2000(or any other year for that matter) that have lots of Randalls for immediate delivery at the same prices as Randall. Doug Kenefick, and Nordic Knives are 2 that come to mind.

I just called several Randall dealers and found Nordic Knives to have the shortest lead time at present. I ordered a Model #1 with Border Patrol shaped leather handle that is due in September. Most were 9-12 months out. Good Luck.

I will chime in with my vote for contacting Nordic also. I have had very bad luck with inquiries directed to Randall. Out of three times that I have written email to the Randall contact info on their site I have recieved responses only once and the one time I did recieve a response it was not very helpful. Someone on another thread I started asking for dealer info suggested I contact Randall for a dealer list. I did and two months later Im still waiting. Good thing many fine people here contributed so I got the info and knife I wanted. Randall is probably Waaayyyy busy. Call or email Nordic. Nice people great service and they respond in a timely manner.
