What is the weirdest sharpening angle you have ever seen?

I just encountered mine last night on a new knife I bought a couple days ago. I tried to use the 30 and 40 degree slots on the Sharpmaker, but neither would work, so I ended up using the slot for scissor sharpening instead. I noticed when I tried to sharpen it, the bottom part of the blade was taking a nice edge, but the top portion wasn’t hardly getting sharp at all. So I used the sharpie trick and realized that I had to twist the upper portion of the edge toward the rod all of the way to the tip. Actually on one side it looks like I am almost cutting into the rod. I thought about having my entire edge redone so both sides are the same.
 
Yeah that's kind of a garbage edge, quality of other aspects of the knife aside. Sounds like it needs to have the edge fully reprofiled.
 
It took a few sharpening sessions to figure out how to get a halfway decent edge on the upper portion of the blade. Would using diamonds all of the way across the blade to match the upper edge with the bottom mess the blade up?

After that, I run the SIC Edge Pro Apex from 220/400/600 grit and generally stop there. I like 600 grit for a working knife but sometimes will go to 1000 grit to clean it up.

One of my local knife dealers also offers sharpening services as well. They use the WE, I may take my knife to them so the can straighten the edge up.
 
I'd give it the Murray Carter multi point inspection. If the blade is warped I'd strongly consider NOT doing anything else without looking into a replacement.

How do I check to see if the blade is warped?
Just looking down the edge of the blade, it didn’t look warped, but I could see the edge getting thicker toward the tip.

Like the pic and description, only check it edge up, edge down, handle toward you, and handle away. Virtually every knife has a warp of some sort, most are not enough to cause sharpening issues but every now and then...

Ok, I just stepped outside and gave my knife a look over. The only major flaw I could see was the edge towards the tip.
 
Depending on where you are you can send it over and I'll rebevel it for you(with a WE) if you want ;)
