What is this a counterfeit of?

So I have in my hands a counterfeit Spyderco knife, but I could not figure out what it is a counterfeit of, as I have no ruler or other measuring device here.
I have pics of it using a 20 dollar bill for scale.
Someone told me it was a Military, but in my mind a military would be bigger.
I thought it was a Paramilitary, but it has a liner lock, not a compression lock.

Any ideas? Or is it just a bad knockoff of a paramilitary?
Which is strange, because if such a knife were manufacted by Spyderco, I would imagine it would be a better value than the Para2, because liner locks are so much cheaper to manufacture...

Just a bad knockoff of the paramilitary. They are now faking the actual para2 with a compression lock as well.

I wonder why Spyderco never sold the Para2 with a liner lock... It's a fine knife, for a counterfeit... really.

Yeah, I've seen plenty fakes of the PM2 that are pretty hard to decipher. That one is just poorly done.

I HATE FAKES!!

Definitely a fake that uses Spyderco's name, logo, and the basic shape of a ParaMilitary. Not sure what makes someone think a Walker lock would be "so much cheaper" to manufacture than a compression lock. Far as I can tell, assuming the lockbars are the same thickness, and neither or both has a nested locking liner, the parts count and complexity has to be the same, or damn close to it.

Because the compression lock is much better, stronger, etc. Why eat a McDonalds burger when you can have a steak instead?

This was one of the earlier Pm2 clones that sold for 15 to 20 bucks.

As an aside, myself being a Military fan, I would buy a smaller Millie with a liner lock. May be redundant with the PM2 but I like both locks and Spyderco does liner locks right.

It just seems like a simpler design than the compression lock, and simplicity in manufacturing over 1 million knives will drive costs down....

The compression lock is very simple too. Without disassembling both knives I think the shapes of the compression lock piece might be more complex but if machinery is cutting it out maybe that doesn't matter. I also think that the compression lock is less picky for fit-up tolerances than the liner lock is.

Crappy fake. Shame on you for buying it and showing it off in the forum of the manufacturer it's ripping off...

Get yourself a real PM2 and you will discover that the fake isn't, in fact, a fine knife.

I've seen that fake advertised as the "Spyderco Paratrooper". Glad I researched it before I ever made an offer on one. Shop careful!

Sal has said the Compression Lock is harder to implement well than the Liner Lock. They seem similar, but they are very different from an engineering perspective.

Guys, I'm not proud of possessing it, I was just asking what it was a counterfeit of. I know its not a real spyderco, nor would I ever pretend it was. I know its not really s30v steel... easy, fellas.

I've never seen a counterfeit that looks so much like the real thing! It's very difficult to copy something so accurately. I mean, even the watermarks on that $20 look real.

^^^ I've seen way better counterfeits of the PM2. Whoever reverse engineered that one must be a noob or in need of a new profession.

They make counterfeit PM2's now that you need a pretty keen eye to tell the differences between. I recently picked up a real PM2, watched some videos on it and saw the counterfeit videos, goodness was I scared that the one I had was counterfeit! Thankfully it isn't though! One hell of a knife!
