What is this Boker 2005 pearl, it is numbered on the bolster?

This Boker model 2005 was (if I remember correctly) purchased in Germany in the 80s. As the photo shows it is number 392. It also has no medallion in the mother of pearl handle, the medallion is usual in the 2005. Is this a preproduction or some kind of limited edition as a seller on eBay claims for his (number 388)
Anyone know?

Thanks. Any other info? Like why does it have a serial number when most do not? Why does this one have no medallion? Is this a preproduction run? Is it a special edition?

we started at a certain point to give the knives serial numbers. The "old" versions, from the year 2002 for example, they came without the Boker logo in the handle
