Recommendation? What is this Damascus fixed blade?

Hey guys, working through my old man's knife collection and came up with this sheathless custom fixed blade... Damascus obviously... but no signature or maker's mark anywhere. Anyone recognize this thing? I'm wondering if it was one he made or???
