Look up at the left hand corner of your screen, above the sifu. What is this knife, and why is it in the corner? this has had me wondering fora while--Joe
 
I've gotta confess I've often wondered about this too, just never asked. I look forward to finally finding out the answer.
 
I beleive its an auto designed by Mike Turber (the guy who used to be in charge here), don't think it ever made it into production though.

I believe you're right, I asked the same question myself once and I remember that the reply was that it was a custom design that never got to the production stage.

The knife was a drawing make by Mike Turber several years ago. We had been using the REKAT SIFU as a logo (it was designed on this board) and apparently Mike was concerned that we shouldn't be plugging any one company. The artwork appears on the Bladeforums' baseball cap, but we never got around to removing the original picture.

not2sharp pretty much nailed it.

The drawing was one I did that incorpated the best of many knives of it's day. Blackie Collins and I sat down on his computer and did the CAD's. Then I sent the CAD's to Joel Perella (SP?) and he turned them into a 3-D graphic. Then I played with it in Photoshop as well as Spark and it became our logo. The knife has never been put in production like so many other projects I screw up :)
