HELP???

I have a supposedly BRAND NEW Emerson/ Neeley Specwar from Timberline Knives en route to me in a couple of days, but some pics of the knife supplied by the seller show strange marks on the back (flat) side of the blade. The marks look like lightning. The blade is ATS-34 with a Black Ti coating.

The seller stated the knife is BRAND NEW and has never been used. The marks, as you can see, are not on the cutting edge, but run near the top of the blade and near the tip.

Could it be corrosion?? What are your opinions???

Thanks in advance.

Your picture isn't coming up, but I'm going to assume that they are rub marks from the sheath. I believe the model you are speaking of came with a Kydex sheath or some similar type of plastic. While molded Kydex can keep your knife quite secure in it's sheath, it often can cause rub marks on blades and handles because of the snug fit. So while it may be brand new, never used, or sharpened, it could still have those marks just from the knife simply being put into and pulled out of it's sheath.
