what is this one?

G'day Cal, my 899 has two of the same blades I think...the punch and the sheepfoot <I'm assuming your second blade is a reprofiled sheepfoot but I guess it could be a spey blade?> however my master blade is long Turkish Clip...I seem to recall discussion that the 899 pattern had been seen with Main blade variations.....and yours may be one of these.......I need to unwrap some more of my knives.....Hoo Roo.

Nice score Cal!

The ebay ad says, “about 3&1/4” closed.”
An odd size for Schrade, but the did use it in the 58OT, but no punch, no bone handles and that is obviously a much earlier knife than the 58OT.

I think that may be an 891 that the seller measured as 3-1/4” instead of 3-1/2”.
If so everything else fits; clip blade, spey blade & punch, bone stag handles & nickel silver shield & bolsters.

The Schrade Cut Co number was 8913 and was a pattern carried over as 891 when Cut Co became Schrade Walden. It does appear in the 1947 catalog. It was produced until 1958 according to my notes. The retail in 1958 was $3.95.

At that price I’ll take a gross! :D

Calvin - Great snag. That knife is the same frame as an 834 or 833 with those blades, 3 5/16". Schrade Cut Co number is 8853 3/4. I have one with Delrin handles. There is one with a pen blade too. I've not seen one in a Schrade Walden Catalog. But they did exist. Mine has no number on the back of the tang. The 891 has rounded bolsters, so does the 899. This is a perfect example of why Schrades are so fun to collect.

My delrin handled example.

Thank you gentlemen for your elucidative commentary. I certainly appreciate it. When I am able to measure it we can confirm conclusions (maybe).

Nice goin Calvin!! Please give us the low down as and when you get the knife.

Upon arrival the li'l darlin' (not Derlin) is 3 5/16 inches, as Hal predicted. Tight and snappy, with a little use. No pattern number.
