What is this sharpener?

Hi guys
I am a free hand sharpener. I am not the best but I get reasonable results. However, this sharpener seems too good to be true. Anyone has any idea?

why does it seem too good to be true? he took an already paper slicing sharp edge, then he rubbed a thing on it for a few seconds and it was still paper slicing sharp... wow, miracle of sharpening technology!

Not saying the thing can't sharpen, but I highly doubt it's some ground breaking way to sharpen. Just another semi guided system that has a material capable of honing an edge.... Guy could have been holding a 600 grit pocket stone and done the same thing, would it have seemed unbelievable?
