What is this sword is it Bali? Indian?

Hello everyone,

Could you tell me where this sword is from.. Is it Balinese? or Indian? The hilt is all wood, the grip is wrapped in a fiberous cording. Total length is 37". The metal blade is not marked, it is pitted here and there and there are some small rust points. Image:

just goes to show that things are never what they appear to be on the surface when you first start getting into them.. I find many people to be taken aback by pieces like this sword, it really is an awesome piece.. when you start to get into the history it really becomes, to me, fascinating.
