take close up pics, better yet take a grinder to it and tell us what color the sparks are. Hard to tell with the info you have given.

Adamantium? Unobtanium? If anyone can tell you what a particular nondescript metal is just by looking at a picture on the internet they are one impressive guy. Or more likely they've seen this particular beast before and know something about it.

It appears to be a vaguely medieval styled sword of the cruciform variety. The fittings and grip appear to be chunky and quite heavy, I'm guessing this at least in part is an attempt to balance the also chunky and heavy looking blade.

Were I to make a guess I'd say that this was a starfire sword or something similar intended for staged combat and backyard bashing. It's probably significantly overweight and sold with a sales pitch about how it can snap other swords and hack through telephone poles were it to be sharpened.

As for the metal at a guess some sort of carbon steel, take a magnet to it and see if it's ferrous at least. :)

If you own it, well we all started somewhere. (Stainless steel "ninja" sword in my case.) If you are thinking of buying it... look around a bit more. :)

That sword there is a Starfire. It is one of there older models. It is made of a tempered High Carbon steel. Starfire wont say what they use but the swords are meant for stage combat use only. This sword is not intended to be sharp-pend and it is highly recommended that you dont try to sharpen it.
