Came across a Thorburn in the back of a storage chest. I am having a hard time identifying the model etc and am hoping BF can help. This will be a scenario where I will likely move the knife to a new home if I can nail down its identity. I acquireed it about 10 years ago - my recocrds of the trade are shabby. The knife is a front flipper riding on IKBS (Andre does not do many front flippers anymore) with what I think are mammoth molar scales and engrraved stainless steel bolsters. The bolsters are uniformly bright in color - any darkness is due to lighting exposure to capture the scales. The blade has the look of Damasteel. It is a liner lock and the liners are blue ano'd. The backspacer is nicely file worked. Dimensions are handle: 107 mm; blade 81 mm; overall: 188 mm. It is similare to the current L48 model. L48 is not a font flipper but the dimensions are close and the shape of the bolsters, scale and blade grind seem to be similar. Any thoughts amd/or comps? Thanks much, Craig

The input is greatly appreciated. The action on the thorburn is excellent indeed. Do my measuremnts match up with yours? I did not see an L40 on Thornburn's site but can now search for it.

What’s this mm you talk of? Haha!

Ya, the measurements are the same. :)

Much appreciated. Tho is not Canada metric? So you have mm's, cm's, m's, km's usw, ya?

They tell us it’s metric…but I don’t listen. I’m a carpenter so I use imperial 64th’s and the like. Although I’m fine with all measurements. :)

My thanks to all for the assist is identifying the knife model. And it took less than half an hour!!
