So my Wife gave me my two of the Workmans She got me awhile back for my B-day today. I had posted pics before. I tried to get pics tonight but am experiencing difficulties. One is a 110 with ns bolsters and an almost orange wood handle, the other is the oddball 112 fg, ns bolsters and a very dark wood handle. The year mark has me puzzled, it is stamped .. 112 > . The dot after the > is centered on the > and very close to it. I know the > is 1987 but what are the dots? Thanks guys.

Some are found on the 500's as well . We discussed this but I don't think any one knew what the change was . There are not that many of this stamping out there . DM

Dave thanks, I thought it had to do with mid year change but don't remember anyone mentioning two dots before the number and one after. Hey maybe I finally got a three dot:D

I don't recall any stamped w/ 3 dots just the one dot by the > . So, I don't know what you have . DM

Guys, we need some help on this one . Those with searching capability . Did we discuss something like this over a year ago and someone posted a photo of one stamped like Spike describes and we all sort of scratched our heads ? DM

Thanks Dave, seems like nobody is 100 percent sure. Maybe I can find some more pictures of Hamilton:) Boy did i make myself look stupid with that.

Spike, Let it go . I've done it as well . I had it set up for you to bail out . Just laughed and said, OK, you figured it out I'm in it for the money ! I'd have stuck w/ you ! DM

Spike, Anyway none of us know for certain on that one . So, I think you have a VERY interesting and rare/ collectable knife and subsequent stamping . DM

I thought I had in my notes that those were leftover blades that were re-stamped, but I can't remember where I got the info; these are from 112s:

Here is ya another one that has a dot. We kicked this one around a couple years or so back. I don't recall anyone ever knowing what the change was.
But, I don't remember a lot of things...:(

Is anyone collecting weird dots?

The dot at the angle marks a mod year change,
the angle on the three dot blade is a newer year mark
on an elder blade. Do I have this right?

Best,
Haebbie

Seems to me that unless it's a four-dot blade with the angle stamped over the third dot.....the spacing would be wrong.

No, I guess the angle would be stamped over a dot no matter what.

Maybe I misunderstand this.

No, I think you're spot on, I have "4 dot restamped" in my scribbled notes
