Hello. I purchased this knife at a thrift store in New Braunfels, TX. I’ve tried researching its origin only to get mixed reviews. Can anyone assist me in identifying it?

Yup, it's a gaucho/criollo style knife. Tandil is a city in Argentina with a long history of making knives in that style. As mentioned, it's got a handle made from the foot of a Rea, a large bi-pedal bird from Argentina, similar to an Emu. It looks typical of knives made for tourists, but it's still a serviceable knife.

There are collectors for criollo knives, it's a fascinating design with a deep history. I suspect yours is not particularly old or sought after but, again, it's a serviceable knife. Use it in good health.

Just pullin' your leg ! ;)

Probably not the weirdest knife handle material ever , but not too far off . Very interesting .

Ok then I have a John Wayne Bobbitt knife for ya!! Can you guess what the handle is???😜
