I don't know if you can say it is a rip off because CRKT and CRK did team up to make that knife according to past posts. It did not work out and the project was cancelled.
 
thanks for the info....had know idea that crk and crkt had a project in the past....oh well, I guess I learned something on the forum as well.....:D
 
Ahh, I stand (sit? type?) corrected.

Odd though that they'd do a joint project that basically results in...a sebenza.
 
The CRKT Sebenza never made it into production, because of problems with the nylon and the frame lock design. I wonder if this Eddie Bauer knife was some sort of prototype, or a pre-production proof piece?

The CRKT/Sebenza project was a long time ago, perhaps 5+ years back? Way before any sort of knife forums, other than Usenet, even then rec.knives was in its infancy.
