What is this knife on www.knifezilla.com?!? I've had 2 cheapies before and this will be my 3rd balisong, here's the link to the knife. http://216.71.158.68/webcat/product1511.html
It appears to be a Microtech, I search for it for hours, and couldnt find anything called "Tach SV" If the Tach means Tachyon then what does the SV mean? I know I didn't get a 200$ knife for 20$. The Dragonfly is the lower version of the Tachyon, right? Then what is this?!?! It's identical to the Tachyon and only 22$, and I can't find any information on it! I would like to know what the handles are made out of.

These swingers are sturdy made with molded alloy handles, machine screw construction for easy takedown and just like the original

Molded alloy....Hmmm.......LOW QUALITY KNOCKOFF

There is a saying that goes .."Pay more for quality, cry once. Pay less for crap, cry every time you use the cheap phuqin knife"...or something like that.

As the old saying goes "The more you waste on a knife, the less money you have." I'm only 14, it's not like I have a job or something, if I didm i'd buy knives all the time.

Looks like one of the unmarked Boss knives Mike spoke of that left out the factories back door

Do a search with "Boss Cheetah" Mike Turber has these buterflies made overseas and he had a problem with the factory selling these knives out the back door.

Sorry about the profanity, I didn't realize your age, still, if you save up for a higher quality knife, it will be one that you will want to keep for years , and it will last that long.:o

lol, It doesn't matter if you cuss, I cuss. The next knife i'm getting is gonna be a better one. I need a reccomendation for a balisong, around 100$ or so. I should have enough in about a month of mowing lawns.

You might want to go to the bali forum right here at BFC for better info. Just click on General Knife Discussion at teh top of the screen and its like the 4th or 5th one down

So what's the real Cheetah made out of? So the knife I ordered is a knockoff of the Cheetah? Or is it the Cheetah sold early behind Mike's back?

thats sure what it looks like, and it costs just as much money.

could be like the previous guy said, made in the same factory and sold out the back door by someone involved:grumpy:

Welcome...
First of all, I want you to know that I'm glad you're here with the right attitude. Most of the younger guys get here and all they want to do is start fights, and show off. It seems like you're here to learn and discuss in a very adult manner. That sets you apart from the Mall Ninjas and Virtual Tough Guys... You will do very well here. Rest assured that there are very knowledgeable people here... some who have revolutionalized the knife industry and a few who pretty much around since it began. Be flexible, willing to learn, yet stand your ground when you know you're right and you will fit in just fine.
One thing though... are butterfly knives legal where you live?
I'd hate for a young member to get in trouble with the law.... be sensible with your new hobby.

Could be, but all the 1st Generation Cheetahs are unmarked. I know because I've got one from 888knivesrus, and I know they got theirs from Mike.

True, all the first generations were unmarked, however I suspect that these were the back door models for one reason. He is calling them Tach Bali - SV's.

Thanks. They are legal where I live(Arizona) but i'm too young to have one. I say screw that. My brother bought one about 6 months ago, and the day he did, I wanted one badly. A week later I gave him my money and he got one for me. When I go places I keep it in my pocket and don't use it in public. I looked up the laws and the only reason I wouldn't be able to have one is because of my age, but I don't care. I got my first pocket knife when for my birthday when I turned 10! Most of my friends got their first pocket knives when they were younger, around 10 years old also! I say, if I act mature and don't fling it around in public or show it off, I won't get caught with it. There is no way anyone could ever take knives away from me, or not allow me to go shooting. I'd rather goto the range and fire off a thousand rounds with friends and/or family than goto a movie, unlike other people my age.

This kid sounds like the real McCoy good kid, likes knives and likes to shoot. Welcome to the forum, youngster!

Maybe we should check with either Mike or Josh to get the straight facts?

The knife on Josh's site is a Gen 1 Cheetah. Yes it is from the first sterile batch and as far as I can see it is not a knock of the the Cheetah but just from the first batch for the YK factory. We moved the mold from this factory but we have settled with the supplier and he is allowd to sell these for now.I know the ones at www.888knivewsrus. com an authorized version, also Gen 1.

Gen 2 will be available (crossed finger) soon. Soon is defined as sometime in the next 45-60 days. Again fingers crossed.

If you see one from JOY let me know :)
