I recently acquired a Benchmade 960 limited edition knife. It is an Inova with a blue insert in the handle. All I know about the material that the insert is made out of is that it is blue. It is not the faux blue mother of pearl. Can anyone here help me to figure out what this material is? The knife is a limited run and only 50 with this material were produced. Thanks in advance for your answers.

On BM's website, they say: "A never dying natural energy source is injected with the real mother-of-pearl inlays shimmering like moonlight on water. "

I don't know what the "never dying energy source" is, but there's real MOP in it.

I think the guy who wrote the descrption was a little high...

A never dying energy source? First thing that came to mind is that they are injecting some radium or tritium along with some phosphorescent material. Can you say glow in the dark?
