for christmas my moms friend gave me a nice slipjoint folder. and i was wondering whats the quality and whats the worth of it

two blades both swing out at one end of the knife

in a circle at the base of the blade stamped remington umc and outside the circle made in usa

on back of blades is the year 1991 and model numberr1178

bullet stamp thingy in handle

seems nice but how would it hold up for edc?
thanks in advance

It sounds like one of the Remington knives that were made by Camillus Cutlery in the early 1990s.It should be an ok user but with the bullet shield it may have some collector value. As far as pattern,it's hard to tell without a picture,2 blades on one end, could be a trapper or a jackknife, how long is it?

well, it sounds like what you have there is what we like to call a "knife".

A 1178 is a mini-trapper I believe and yes it should make a fine user. Nib they were selling for around $35 a while back on the bay.
