Aside from an axe with a curious handle, not sure what this is for (shingle axe?), who made it, etc.

Ideas?

It is made by AITOR, from Spain
The wood has obviously been changed, and some of the steel parts polished.

I would guess by the prybar, and hammer that it is intended for breaking open shipping crates, or as a general use workshop tool.

EDIT: Maybe its not AITOR at all. I don't think I've ever seen one from a different manufacturer. This is the first time.

They were pretty common in Germany and were put out by several makers; stores sold them as a camping hatchets.

It is pretty small, has an obtuse bevel, and a thick bit. Maybe so that young boy scouts won't hurt themselves. :confused:Not really useful for anything, but it has a nail-puller and a screwdriver.

Thanks for the info!

I Googled around a bit trying to find more information on the maker and this item in particular but had no luck. Any hints on where to get more info?

Found some recent stuff by this company but thats it. Anyway, I'm asking about this axe because it looks like I picked up one of these as part of a blade lot off Ebay:
