What is your all time favorite Emerson Knife? If I missed one, then I do apologize, but only 10 are allowed for a poll. Don't forget to post something about your knife too. I'm sure we all wouldn't mind a little story as to why it is your favorite choice.

Well, good luck guys. Mine is the Emerson Commander. First Expensive knife that I ever got (traded a lot of stuff for it). It was brand new, a 2006 model, and it caught my eye by accident really. Looking back it was more like fate . It was the longest carried EDC I ever carried "clipped" wise, that excludes SAKs. Some of you might notice that I'm keeping track of my Spyderco Military in my signature, that might beat the record, but my Commander is looking pretty tempting. I usually switch out my EDCs for the flavor of the day, but the ones that have lasted the longest at one time is the Commander and now the Military. My Commander has gone through a lot of camping and outdoor trips and has yet to let me down. I don't have any complaints about he liner lock either, strong stury lock up and zero blade play. Great knife, and my first Emerson. I'm looking forward to another one, just haven't had the funds or picked one out yet.

CQC-15, great ergonomics, it just fits the hand, and is very secure and prevents forward and rearward movement; thats why its my favorite.

The CQC12 I believe. The one with the framelock.I've had the privledge of handling it,but IMO it's waay overpriced.:(

The CQC12 and CQC13 (Safe queens), but I carry the CQC 7 (waveless) and CQC 7 Super due to cost. I have used the CQC8 (waveless) for dressing my deer for the last few years and I would not trade it.

Hey Ossa, that's a bada$$ signature, and I remember where it's from too :D.

Back to business, I've thought of getting a waveless Emerson, after the "wave excitement" wears off, it's a little bit of a pain having to work the knife out of my pocket EVERY time I pull it out so as not to freak people out with the wave opening the Commander automatically.

really? its never been a problem for me to pull mine out without waving it open, i suppose YMMV lol but i have never understood folks who had a problem with that.

i carried emersons for 4 or 5 yrs and none were waved so the wave is kinda cool for me, i carried either a specwar '8, or a ECA P-Tac, or a I&I tanto, none of the 3 waved.

i can rememeber when none of the customs were waved other than the commanders or MV1's.

It's just one of those things, it's next to impossible to pull it out of your pocket when you are sitting down (assuming you're wearing blue jeans). The wave catches and gets stuck to your pocket if you aren't standing up.

I'm a new Emerson user, and I have to say, I still can't get used to the Wave, meaning, it's so cool just to Wave my super commander whenever I need something cut.

I'm looking for excuses to cut because of it.

Obviously, I like my super commander a whole lot. Among the Emersons, it's my favorite blade shape, although I do have questions when it comes to the grind. Other than it looks as if it doesn't seem to cut straight, I like everything else about it.

I happen to love huge knives with really wide blades, and the one on the super commander is just right for me.:D

my favorite custom is the CQC6, followed by the CQC13.

my favorite production is the CQC12 by far, followed by the SOCFK.

The 12 is where its at but i like the Persian and La Griffe allot also

agree P-Tacs are cool, i have a ECA P-Tac with the ZBG blade, its the bomb imho, a heckuva SD knife for sure.

My first EKI was the old raven with the plastic handles. Decent knife but not a good emerson to start out with. I then purchased a commander and absolutely loved it but sadly, ended up losing the knife on a jump. I then purchased the mini commander because the one thing I didn't like about the full size was how much it filled my pocket. The mini commander I brought with me on a deployment and the knife served me very well. Took some getting used to after carrying the full size but was a very well contoured, high quality knife. I retired that when I got out of the army and was looking for something a touch smaller. All of my close friends had the luxury of owning the Cqc7 and that was one knife that I had always wanted. On a whim one night I took a chance and ordered the mini cqc-7 satin with serrations. I had never held the mini before and thats why I say that I took a chance. After a few weeks of carrying this knife it quickly became my favorite. Perfect size for what I want it for....general purpose and a good strong knife if stuff goes south. The full size CQC-7 will always be a legend in tactical folders, people who carry them always seem to come back to them when going some place else. I feel that the mini doesn't get enough attention...It seems to keep all the good traits of the full size and do it in a smaller package.

Out of the 7s i like the mini also, the HD7 is great because of the frame lock but the mini7 is just about right for EDC.
an HD mini 7a would be almost perfect :)
