I am curious if some of you carry a really big folder as EDC ... and wich is ?

This is my biggest folder, I did some cutting shores and a asado too :

Thank you for sharing what you carry !!!

Regards

Buck 110 and Spyderco Military are my two biggest. I’m curious to see what people lug around :D:thumbsup:

Outdoors I carry a Cold Steel 5.5 " blade Espada for utility and an XL serrated Talwar for backup and emergency use .

Indoors , it's an XL serrated Vaquero and a 4" Talwar .

Rarely, I carry the even larger Rajah or Holdout models .

My largest folder is the Cold Steel Recon 1 XL Tanto. The largest folders I actually EDC are my GBs.

mine's the big Rajah too :D

With a blade of 5.5 inches, my Cold Steel Holdout 1 is my biggest folder, but I haven t carried it. The biggest knife I ve carried my Spyderco Farid K2.

I have been experimenting with a Frenzy II as my big EDC, usually paired with a Spyderco Salt. The big folder is fun and useful, but it is just too much knife for some tasks.

one of my all time favorites, the H.O.I has a 6 inch blade length

My largest folder would be my Ultra Lock Recon 1. It's large enough that I don't ever carry it. Since getting it I realized that I can't carry a knife over 3.75" without it feeling like a folding machete, and unless it is a flipper my hands are too small to open and close the knife safely and comfortably.

Probably this Herbertz lockback folder:

From top to bottom: Herbertz lockback, Strider GB, Spyderco Military

From what i could find on the internets these knives were actually made in Japan for the German Herbertz brand by good Japanese craftsmen.
The knives were made in very small series to be sold as display models to dealers who carried the Herbertz brand, and the price in the '80's was about 275 Euro.
Although fit for the hand of a giant the knife is sharp & very well made, and without even a hint of play in the lock.

Specs:

Length open: 39,5 cm
Length closed: 22,3 cm
Blade length: 17,7 cm
Blade thickness: 5,2 mm
Steel: unknown stainless
Handle material: thick brass with wooden inlays.
Weight: 697 gram
