We all get a deal of the day at times. Wether its from the forums, that big auction site, FB group pages, etc. I have been fortunate to get some over the years in my CRK buying. SO.......What is your CRK STEEL Of The Day....???? Lets share and tell out stories....!!!

I will start off.........

This was an ( That BIG Auction Site ) Steel of the Day a couple weeks ago ( just arrived today) . Little did I know how special it was. It's an old small regular CGG Pheasant Tail for starters. The slab side has a B97 stamping, did not realize the pheasant tail was that old. The lockside has no date code, which predates it. The washers are small on both sides. I have seen this in the past as this was when CRK was still evolving the Sebenza. Only ever seen this on the small though, not on the larges. Blade is also unmarked and is BG-42. It has that nice polish luster the old BG-42's had. Ti is well worn and smoothed over from years of carry. Blade is centered and lockup is about 80%. It's a user, no safe queen here. It was dirty as hell and it took me some time to carefully disassemble it. I think it still had some of the 97' dirt in it....lol. It's all cleaned up and spiffy now. No clip, but I have several to add should I choose. Can always add a clip insert as well. For now, I like it the way it is.

No story of my own, But that is a good one.
The Pheasant tail is a great design and on my short list to find

Never thought I'd have a second chance to have a large Stars & Stripes. The first one went to another member that I felt it was meant for. Got this one, it came in less than desirable condition, but it does have BG42 steel which sealed the deal. I couldn't tell if it had color to the stars or stripes. It was faded pretty much. Scratched to hell and back. No box or paper work. Sent it to CRK, they did an outstanding job and reissued a bday card. I don't think this one will get away from me. The graphic slab is stamped B 01 and mine also has no stamp on the lock slab.

Thought you might appreciate this;

Limited edition that was an accident.. At some point, I will likely destroy it as it was ne'er meant to be..Someone ran 2 by accident, so he kept this one and gave it to me many years ago. He was the original designer of the pheasant tail..
It's been in the safe..Actually forgot I had it until I was digging around. Really wish I could find a pheasant tail...One of my favorites.

I've gotten some great deals, and some no so great deals. Here's one that stands out in my mind as a bargain to remember;

At the beginning of this year, I was put in touch with a gentleman who was selling out some really nice CRK's. I scored 8 awesome Sebenzas, some are grails. When he was done listing the Sebenzas to me, a process that took him several days, he said "I also have a couple Mnandis. Do you like them?". Well, yeah, you can say I like Mnandis! "I have this one that you can have for $325".....

Sir, Please, take my money!!!! :D

I have had a bunch of deals, all through one auction site (not eBay).

My best deal though were BOTH of these Large Regulars (BG42) for $550 total.

The Annual was from 2001, and the UG was 1999 iirc.

Sent both in for spa treatment, paid to have the handle of the UG refinished, it was $30 bucks. So $580 plus shipping. I was in for around 600 for the pair.

I really loved the Annual. It was not mint by any means, it was a user. Ended up selling both of them, but maybe someday I will get another Annual.
