What is your experience with Blackjack Knives?

Not sure I would trust that guy making knives.....

I do not own any of the new Blackjacks; I have several of the Effington Blackjacks made by Mike Stewart, including the Trail Guide, the Model 5, and the Chukker. All are very good quality. I have heard that the "classic" line sold by the current ownership are still made by Mike Stewart (Bark River), but don't know that for sure -- but if so, I would expect the quality to be the same as Bark River.

The new "classic" Blackjacks seem like well made knives, but as I stated, no personal experience.

Mike Stewart handles the expensive Blackjack line for Blue Ridge Knives, and also handled the the U.S. Blackjack line for Ken Warner. They're good knives, perhaps even better than the older 90's knives.

I have one of the new Blackjack Halo Attacks, and it is a very, very nice knife. It's basically a Bark River with a different name on it, and minus the Bark River warranty. The materials, construction and fit and finish are Bark River all the way. Same sheathmaker too. I haven't had a chance to really put it through its paces yet, but previous experience with BRKT's A2 leads me to believe it should be tough as nails. With the beefy convex grind, it should be just as tough, if not tougher than a Randall, which has a thinner grind.

And don't overlook some of the "offshore" BlackJacks. The Grunt is a phenomenal knife for the price. Big hunk of nicely convexed steel. Love mine.

I really like my Anaconda III from the imported new line, that convex edge is scary sharp and it's quite a nice chopper for its size.
