Benchmade made many great knives, but I do not pay attention to them only recently. The Rukus is my first Benchmade, the smooth carbon fiber handle is very comfortable, and I love it. The Griptilian is also great too. I am starting to collect Benchmade, but my knowledge of them is elementary indeed. So, brothers, what is (are) your favorite Benchmade(s) and why?

I've been a huge fan of the 530 for a few years...thin and wicked slicer. With such a narrow blade profile, it is easily one of the best carry knives out there, with good steel, a fine lock, and 4-way carry. 100% pure function. Great blade.

Mini-grip - hands down.

If the 14210 came with different handle material then it would be a tough call between the two.

I would start with the basics: 520 and 710.
Then, among the discontinued models, I would look for an Ares and an AFCK, they do no come cheap, though.

The 520 is the best I have owned, with the 525 next. Those 730's and 720's were great knives, and should be made again.

Well I started with them many years ago and they get better and better, but old school BM....Large Spike plain edge.

710.

Benchmade makes some great knives, but none of them fit my hand as well as the 710. The AFCK came close and would probably be my favorite if I hadn't said "I'll come back for it later." Later never came.

The Griptillians, as nice as they are just don't feel right to me. They don't seem as well balanced. I love the blade choices and profiles, but I wish the handle was just a bit heaiver. The plastic doesn't bother me, I just wish there was a bit more weight in it. I guess I want a Grip with full liners under G-10 or FRN scales.

Large Grip!

For some reason the higher end benchmades don't appeal to me at all. For $100+ knives I'll look at Spyderco, ZT and then upwards into Strider, CRK, Microtech, etc.

But the Benchmade Grip is just fantastic at the ~$70 price point!

I like the 940 and the old 804 the best. I like Benchmade knives and the 940 has a nice size blade in a compact size handle. Kevin

I love my Mini Rukus. I sold my Griptilian and 710 after getting one. The mini Rukus fits my hand perfectly and has better fit finish than the 710.
