Here are all the 1-piecers that I can think of, in no particular order (minus the very cool CRK short sword of legend and wonder):

  • Project I
  • Project II
  • Shadow I
  • Shadow III
  • Shadow IV
  • Sable IV
  • Mk VI
  • Mountaineer I or II
  • Jereboam MK II
  • Tanto I
  • Aviator
  • Ubejane
  • Kathathu

My favorite is the Project II, followed by the Shadow III. Your (collective) turn(s) now...

I have a Project II (serial # 10)1993 I had Chris put extra serrations on it, so it has 3" instead of the 1 1/2" standard ...I remember Anne telling me it looked like Jaws before she sent it to me:) I also own a Tanto 1...

The Project II is my favorite as I am a fan of clip points.....

My first CRK was a South African Mark V (#47)1987 I still have this one also...it has a blade style similar to the Project II...just not as Beefy and no serrations....

You can not go wrong with a CRK!:D

as a side note on the SA blade..I still have the original box from Black Jack who was the importer at the time along with all the paperwork...

Personally I like the Kathathu series, especially the 7.5 inch model. Though the CRK I USE the most is the Mountaineer II.

I really like the Sable IV. I think it has the most generally useful blade shape & size of all the one piece knives.

Since the image that used to be attached to the sword thread above is gone...here it is again:

Hey! Wouldn't this be a great blade to be one of the ones made with the new 3V steel?!?!?! ;) :D

I like the Al Mar / Chris Reeve Collaboration in all three blade lengths. Wish I had 'em all. Otherwise I have a Shadow III along with me most of the time. The Project II comes out on all camp trips.

I like how you think! :)

As much as I love my Shadow IV the Sable is by far a better utility blade. Next I would go for the Project I. I will get one some day...:(

I looked them all over. The project 1 is my favorite with the Shadow IV as my second favorite.
The Shadow IV is just a smaller version of the project 1 which is nice as its a little handier for everyday use. But when you dont know what your up against the Project 1 can do it all and more IMHO. Great knives. Well made sheaths as well. Keepers for sure.

I had a Sable once and I really liked it. I guess that's why I like the Al Mars so much - like a Sable but w/ serrations. Anyhow all of the Chris Reeve blades are outstanding.

Mountaineer II ---CRK are some of my favorite knives. Their craftmanship is unbelievable and far superior to most of the knives I own, including my Randalls. In one word ------flawless

I seem to remember there were once larger versions of the Sable once........I think with 7" and 12" blades. THOSE are my favorites. :D Not that I expect to ever see or own one.............

I really like the Mountainer II but my fav has been the Aviator I love the serrations and it remindss me of the older Camillus Vietnam Knives.

Truthfully you cannot go wrong buying a CRK it's a knife for life!

Project II (No:9) I've used for so long, though I have a Project 1 which I'm shortly to change to. I don't feel I'm on an adventure without one.

My favourite 1- piece knife is the Shadow Mk. III, because I own one. :D
