Obviously, different handles for different sized and intended purpose knives, but still some handles are just right for a given knife.

What are everyone's favorite handle designs / shapes and why?

Comfort?
Feel?
Function?
Etc.?

Fusion, Ergo, Straight, Tac, etc.?????
Magnum, smooth, snake, whatever.....?

You can also list favorites for different size and use catagories if that makes it easier...

I just got a SHSH and I am really loving the feel of it's handle, very much so. I held a SHBM a while back and didn't particularly like the feel of it's handle. Even though their both straight handled my SHSH's handle was literally about a .25" taller than the SHBM's and that .25" difference made a big difference to me. I have a SHBA that I love the feel of, great knife.

I think the Ergo handles feel good too but I haven't done any chopping with one so I can't comment too much.

The Fusion hanldle (FSH) feels great to me with magnum handles. With the HOFSH I would have to go with the regular handles though.

The SF handle in magnum is my FAVORITE by far. I would have loved to have seen the FSH or the FBM with the SF magnum handle. Now that would have been sweet. The SF magnum handle feels awesome in my hand.

I really don't like the Tac handle. I would have loved to have seen the new Satin Jack with the SF handle. I love the Badger Attacks but it having the new Tac handle makes me a little sad.

IMHO.

DITTO! Hate to say it,cause I do dig pretty much everything Jerry puts out past and present but I have to agree with Silas here. The TAC is not where it's at. At least not for me. :(

My favorite so far is the Fusion with Mags. Then the Ergos, especially the BA, and lastly the EDC, Meaner Street style.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I like the TAC handles. I think they are the logical outgrowth of the rope micarta handles from the original Satin Jack and BA3 models. The TAC is comfortable in forward and reverse grips and since it is taller than the rope versions, the tendency to twist in the hand is significantly reduced.

For the bigger knives, my favorite is the Magnum Fusions. Jerry really did his homework when designing these things.

In declining order:

1. Ergo I love the "drop" in the ERGO handles.
2. EU-17 style
3. Fusion Magnum
4. Tac
5. SF
6. Straight Some straights, in particular the Bird's Beak style, just do not have enough hand room between the front and rear talon hole extentions.

As I look at my list, the thing that jumps out at me is, the more drop in the handle, the better.

The old school straight handles were my favorite. I haven't handled one with the new EU handles, those look good too.
