What is your favorite Wharncliffe flipper?

I'm looking for a nice flipper with a Wharncliffe blade. I'm taking about a true Wharncliffe with a completely straight edge.

I'm considering going as high as mid-tech quality if there are any knife makers accepting orders right now.

Suggestions?

My favorite Wharnies don't have flippers. The flipper tab just gets in the way. Unless it's something with a discrete design, like a Kershaw Leek.

The only things keeping me from getting the CRKT Swindle is the so so steel and small size, other than that it's my favorite Wharncliffe design. That thing is sexy and it knows it.

The Leek is the closest thing to a Wharnie flipper I have, but it has a slight curve instead of a completely straight edge

What's your price range? Figured I'd ask before I say RHK XM-18 or ADV Butcher.

My price range is around $500. I might go higher for something really awesome.

I saw the ADV mini butcher at knife center is going for $390. Is that a good price for that knife?

Are ADV knives good? I've heard bad things about the knife maker's customer service and stuff, but nothing about the knives themselves.

I've pretty much heard what you have... I have no opinion on either the knife nor maker's rep beyond rumor though.

It's a decent price based on the RHK alternative of spending a bit more, but both are in your range. Also uberknives was offering a 20% off coupon code "TRUTH" which makes it even cheaper (assuming it's still running). GL

I just saw a video review that said the mini butcher has a titanium frame lock that is not carbidized, nor does it have a steel insert, so it sticks to the blade. Do you know if the full size butcher is carbidized or has a steel insert on the frame lock?

Poltergeist Works. If you can find one on the exchange. I really like his wharncliffes. However his books are closed (although I'm on the list looking at 22months !)

I got it yesterday, but I don't think the fit and finish is up to par for the price, so I'm returning it to get a large sebenza insingo. 😃

Maybe I'll get a butcher another time.

While not "true" wharncliffe's, I love my Brous Bionic and ZT 0770 CF

Hands down, my favourite wharncliffe flipper is the Jason Brous Silent Soldier

I will say that this is the only knife that I have owned with a flipper and a wharncliff blade that I truly liked. Sad I sold mine, and really consider getting another one down the road.

My Favorite :)

You may have to watch the exchange for a while to find one but, my fav' is the Kershaw TiLT:

Hi. I don't have any pics uploaded at the moment but a knife maker here on the forum, Joseph Hoover, made a tactical wharncliffe flipper for me and it's great. Titanium handles, caged bearings, thick stock, etc. you really might want to do a forum name search and look at some of his work. The pricing on his folders and flippers are very well priced and Joseph stands behind his work. I strongly recommend him.
