Mine's a Spyderco Military. Not sexy in any way.

Not "smooth as oiled glass". Not a titanium framelock, nothing to play with or flick or even gaze at with admiration. Light weight. Not artistically imbellished but still not tough enough to stab through car doors.

It's just a tool that cuts things. Boring, but I really like it.

So, what is your most boring knife?

Chris

My Sebenza's and my 110's. Nothing fancy but they gitterdun.

Either of my Spyderco FRNs. They're ugly, I'm still not a huge fan of lockbacks nor the thumbhole, and they don't have a button that deploys the blade automatically, but they get the job done and there's always one in my waistband.

The thing is, since I got started with autos and balisongs, "normal" knives have a hard time exciting me anymore. But nobody makes a fully serrated auto (that isn't rescue blunted). My least exciting auto would have to be the Severtech, which, apart from the pretty blue anodizing and forceful opening, is purely all-business

I suppose I might own a Sebenza or a "tactical folder" like a Paramilitary or BM705 if I ever had to move out of Arizona into a less knifefriendly state, but right now, why own anything that isn't an auto? :D

Victorinox Settler. Alox scales, large and small blades. That's all there is, no other tools. It's my most carried and used knife.

There are no boring knives. Get a kid a $100 super deluxe
laser powered, (Insert toy name here), and the kid finds the box more interesting to play with. Boring is just a matter of perception.

Any of the butter knives in my kitchen drawer are as boring as a knife can get.
unknown steel
plain metal handles of unknown origin
can't cut anything

but they serve their purpose in an uninspiring way........

CRKT Hissatsu, its my "use once" knife thats attached to the underside of my bed - it has to be my most boring knife as it never gets used - I hope it remains this way and I never have to use it, but it is nice to know it is there, ready and waiting to welcome that unannounced visitor in the middle of the night.

my SWKW Howler. It has a black blade, black rubber handles, black kydex sheath, its blade is sratched up, and it isnt pretty, but it works so well at everything. Thats why its on my belt right now. :D

Endura. Like the knife, but absolutely nothing special about it whatsoever in any way at all. :(

My most boring (bored) knife would be the clip-point, plain-edge Cold Steel medium Voyager that sits in my wife's purse...That poor little knife has to be bored to death, as it sees very little use and sits in the dark most of the time.:D.

I have an Old Timer stockman type knife that has the brown saw-cut Delrin handles. About as boring a knife as there can be. I still like it though.:D

(I'm with those who say there can be no boring knife)

Excluding kitchen knives,
Victorinox soldier.
Can handle 90% of cutting tasks and other tools usually eliminate the _NEED_ for carrying another knife or multitool.
I call that boring.

Of course I said _need_ not _want_.

my SOG Twitch II and my Blink. they're both beautiful, perfectly machined, and have that clever S.A.T. function, but they're boring as all get out! i never carry them, or use them (at least, not unless they happen to be the "nearest knife").

thanks for opening a wound! :p anyone want to trade? :p
