Curious to see how many choose what knife as their personal favorite cutter. Personally I only have 2 ESEE knives and they're both Izulas, so its the Izula for me.. But I'm putting that against CS SRK and it out cut it.. I have Spyderco, Puma, Sharp, Kershaw, and Buck I'll have to try with closer size comparison..

I think its in the design as the Izula seems curved with the hand, my SRK when tested against the Izula is Razor sharp, but was harder to use to cut through (shave, whittle) thru a 2x4..

So is the 3,4,5,6 etc more difficult to use as a utility??

Which is your favorite?

Edit: ESEE's only !!

My ESEE 3 is my goto knife for everything. It is always with me. Of course that could change ...I've been considering a new tan one!!!!

So far i''d say Izula and BRKT Bravo-1 in sheaths by Martin Swinkels. But my ESEE-4 should arrive tommorow, so cant realy tell yet.
The RTAK-2 would be my favorite "fun" blade

mt SRK really didn't impress me with it's edge geometry, and without hunting for it i've stumbled across a few threads complaining about it. some people have reground it to thin out the edge... so that's not a unique complaint.
the saber grind on the 5 and the thick steel probably produce an edge thats a bit thick and i wouldn't expect it to be as good a slicer as a 6, 4 or 3, but it should be more durable.

i don't think i've heard any serious complaints about the edges on the others/ conversely, a thinner finer edge wouldn't be as durable.

still no ESEEs here yet. :(

I've reprofiled the edge on the Carbon V SRK convexed and hairshaving scary sharp and hold an edge like crazy, I can chop thru wood comparable to a 4x4 and baton enough wood to start a typical campfire and it will still shave.. No complaints about my SRK although I cut through a 2x4 with my Izula (just for sick twisted fun, and to scare my sister-in-law:p J/K) when I tried the same thing with my SRK which was near me at the time, it couldn't handle the chore..

I also reprofiled my RAT Izula (which needed it from factory) and this is the banchee I used to whittle thru the wood, the only thing I can think of is its the geometry of the knife that allowed me to slice thru like nothing... the SRK otoh was a nightmare and I quit right away..

Without a doubt my rc3 is my favorite cutter. I also have an izula that I like but my rc3 is tops in my book. I plan on purchasing a rc5 in the next month for my do all survival knife.

that would be my rc 4!!!!!!!!

Me too. Even though I will own all the Esee's REAL SOON , the 4 remains my favorite. All factors like sheath, blade thickness and length, steel type....it all comes together in the right proportions with the 4 ;)

My heavy cutter is my Izula. It's small, but works like a champ when called to task. It chews up cardboard boxes, ply wood, plastic ties, PVC, you name it!

Day to day cutting tasks fall to my SAK Champion Plus. I'd love to use my Izula, but I live in a major metropolitan area, and although it's legal, people aren't too keen on seeing a fixed blade being used. I'd just prefer to fly under the radar when necessary.

I carry an Izula most of the time. Either that or a 3.

That said, my most USED blades are my 4 and 6.

If I had to sell all but one.......impossible to decide.

Well, since we're limiting this to ESEE knives, the choice for me is quite simple. I only have the H.E.S.T. and it is by far my favorite ESEE. To be fair, I am waiting on an Izula to add to my growing collection.

If you're just talking about ESEE it is the rc4 but my favorite is a Puma my Mother gave my father when i was a baby,He gave it to me a couple of months ago,I always wanted it but never asked. He told me that he was looking at it while they were going through their stuff whike moving in their new home.He said he wanted me to have it a long time ago but had forgotten about it.I sure am glad he remembered.
