Hi fellow knife nuts, I need your opinion on the future value of these Jim Crowell drop point from Browning's Master Smith Collection. This is my first attempt at collecting production knives. The top knife is stamped 208 of 500 and the bottom one is is stamped 97SS of 100 the SS stands for saleman's sample.

its hard to guess which knives will go up/down in the future.

does browning have much collector interest? supply/demand what makes the prices go up.

I would say flip a coin, maybe up and maybe down. The question is, if the price never increases would you still be happy? And would you consider it a user if ten years down the road it did not meet your expectations.

Jeff: Your right if I am not happy with what I have added to my collection in ten years weather they increase in value or not I probable made a mistake in the first place. The first Jim Crowell I purchased was a small drop point with a 3 ½” blade in 1980 the year he started making knives. My next purchase was a Bowie with an Ivory handles circa 1993, then I traded Jim’s brother-in law for one of his first Damascus circa 1982 and now in a few months I should receive my Damascus Dancer Bowie. So when I had the chance to purchase the Browning model # 570 and #571 Salesman sample I jumped at the chance. I also have the competition Crowell, Barker cutter
