What is your perfect chopper length?

I've found that if the blade is too long and/or too thick, it can be pretty exhausting to use. A 12" machete at 1/8" thickness is pretty close to the perfect weight and length for me.

I like chopping with 7-9" blades, too. Shorter and more control.

What do you guys prefer?

8.5"-9.5" is sweet spot for me with .25" or better thickness.(IMO)
Mass & Ass!

I like around 12-15 and it serves double duty for splitting and general machete work. I prefer 3/16" or so thickness. Too thin and it binds, too thick and it is dead weight.

24" in distal tapered 3/32" stock. :D

If I need it to be short and easily packed then 16" is good.

Honestly, though, it depends on what I plan on using it for, on, and for how long, in what environment.

Build up enough muscle strength and a bigger blade will work better than a short blade that takes more work than a longer blade. I like something 10-12 inches and any normal thickness for the size of the blade. I have used a full size Kukri for a couple of decades or more.

I prefer 10-14 inches my main choppers in order are
Esee Junglas
HI ASTK
Condor 14" El Salvador Machete
Imacasa Daga Machete
CS kukri Machete
Tramontina Bolo Machete

I like 9"-10". Mainly because it's a packable size, and most manufacturers seem to make blades this size.
Although I would love to see a 2" wide, 12" long Final Judgement and Extreme Judgement.
