Imagine for a second you won a contest and Rick said he would make you any Hinderer you wanted.......you just had to give him all the details.......could be a production.......DLC.......custom.........could be a folder or fixed.........you just had to pick the knife......blade grind & details.......blade finish.......lockside finish.....hardware and scale........

What would it be.....???

Nice try, my friend. But as you already know once you get one, you seek the next. And there's always a want for a ---fill in the blank-- even as one adds new items to the pile. Just sayin'.:)

Not an ultimate end-all for me but a few I'd like to own...a bronze all-over 3.5 Spearpoint texture Ti 3.5, a bronze all-over 24 textutred Ti Skinner, and an FXM WF Skinner w/ black canvas micarta scales.

Indeed......there is always (or quite often) the desire to get the next Hinderer........but if you were given an opportunity to get your perfect Hinderer.......I know you would be ready with all the details.......and I am in no way saying you can only have one Hinderer........I'm just wondering what would that one perfect Hinderer be.......

I know for me it would be a 3" XM.......it might be bronze ano'd with a bronze textured ti scale.......but I also really like that cue ball ano.......and I would love a black DLC lockside with a matching ti scale.......it would be a satin finished custom blade........but I am not sure which one.......

This is actually one of the coolest XMs I have ever seen.........a black DLC custom grind......

I actually started thinking what the ultimate Hinderer would be if I could specify everything........and I have not been able to come up with a complete answer yet.......

XM-18 3.5 Non-flipper, stonewashed slicer blade in XHP, silver twill scale, blue anodized hardware

NICE...!!! That would be a gorgeous XM....!!!

I forgot about flipper/non-flipper and blade steel choices.........back to the drawing board for me.....

That would be my ultimate grail. Hard to find 3.5 Non-flippers in any variation lately.

Older thread I statred awhile ago along similar lines...some of what was posted in it has come to be...

You're right.....this is similar......although I was hoping to keep this one more reality based.......anything RHK has done before is fair game.......hoping for a Fatty Hellfire made out of Adamantium or a 3" XM lightsaber would be a little outside the scope........:D

Some of the ideas in there are awesome....!!!!

And you are right......some of those dream builds do exist now.......

OK......I think I have mine.......
A 3" XM.
Flipper.
Black DLC lockside with a black DLC textured ti scale.........
A two-tone, 20CV, sterile blade......bead blasted at the back with a satin dagger grind.......
All bronze ti hardware........including the clip.....but not the filler tab....that would stay Black DLC.....
And Rick's custom file work down the spine......done after the DLC so the file work looks satin as well.....
That would be one badass XM.......

Damn......I can see it now.......:D

3" AP Bowie WF on one side the blade and satin on the the other
Black DLC lockside. Black Zirconium textured non-lockside
Red trit eyed filler copper skull and red trit large copper skull clip.
Instead of stand offs, a solid piece of copper as stand off with simple decorative engraving and a glass breaker spike out the back end.
Copper coated Ti screws and pivot.
Copper domed thumb stud
Machine grade red ruby LBS

Roll'n on 24" spinners.....wait what was I talk'n bout.

^^^^^ DAMN.....!!!! :D

That would be quite the XM.........
And since the Bowie will hit the 3" Production blades......hopefully there will be a 3" custom......that would be pretty wicked........
Copper backspacer is a cool idea too........copper is such a cool looking color......

3" XM-18 harpoon tanto custom with bright blade finish and textured CF scale.

3.5 hand ground Spanto, stonewashed, full TI scale with the MEFP, all copper hardware.
