Hi guys,

I know there is lots of technical information flying around here, but do any of you know any good links to basic information regarding knifemaking.. I mean really basic such as glossary ( such as what 'drop point' means etc) and names of the different parts of a knife, and what is meant by the different knife 'types'.

Just go here and click on the encyclopedia link toward the top of the page. AG has some of the best knife related information on the web.
 
Spyderco has a good section on the basic information and mechanical parts of knives; go to www.spyderco.com under the "Edge-U-Cation" section. Even under all of the knives in the online catalog, you can click highlighted parts of the description to get a definition of exactly what that particular parts function is.
