Here is what Ive been working on today. The top one is an order and one of the others will be sold as well, I am letting him pick which one he wants. The others will be available for sale. I did my first recurve! What ya think?

Ok, the Wharnie is sold as well. The drop point, recurve, and Nessmuck are available. All I have left to do is the handles and will work on them by priority! Get them now and pick your handle material. $80.00 shipped with leather pocket sheath or $85.00 with kydex. It will take a week or so extra on the kydex as I have to send it out to get done.

Well, in 50+ years I have learned if you do not ask questions, you do not acquire knowledge . . . . so here goes . . . . from a "gun guy" . . . .
Why do 4 out of the 5 knives have holes drilled already thru the handles, but the top one does not . . .
A) Different mfg. process, that step is pending . . .
B) Scales are "glued" and "pinned" at the same time . . .
C) Top knife is template only, not actual blade . . .
D) Time for me to go help mom like my dad used to tell me . . . . ;)
Be safe.

The top one has only been profiled and ground, the others have been heat treated and finish applied. Ill drill the holes next before I heat treat the top one, I kinda worked it in while they were in the oven. I have on occasion gotten too excited about a knife and forgot to drill the holes before quenching. You than have to go back and reheat to nonmagnetic to soften he steel back up.

. . . . Damn, I am glad you know what you just said and understand it . . . . . I bet you used to woo all the ladies with words like this back in your single days huh . . . . . :D :D :D
Thanks buddy.
Be safe.

Chris, hope I'm not over steppin' my self. J1M, before tool steel (aka knife makin' steel) is heat
treated it's soft enough to work with. Such as drilling holes or grinding out a shape quickly. Once
it gets heat treated that steel is harder than most drill bits. Any grindin' or sanding takes a lot longer.
So you need to do everything you can to it before heat treat. Chris, if I'm wrong on any of this
please correct me.

Chris - nice job on the recurve, it looks good.
Really like the proportions on the top Wharnie and as always, your drop point is very nicely done.
(OK, the nessie is pretty sexy, too - but I hate to say the bottom wharnie does nothing for me)

Thanks 1066vik. Yeah, that bottom one is kinda weird looking, but honestly, its my favorite of the bunch! I don't know why, I guess you would just have to hold it to see. That was the first one taken !lmao

Wharnie is sold!

yeah - it looks like it should feel good in hand - ergos are there for a working knife, would do well for leatherwork or rough hoof trimming I suspect -- just not "pretty" yet. :)

KFU, that drop point and recurve are the ones that look like they want to go outside and "play" . . . . . ;)
KFU & Wilson, thanks for the explanation . . . who says you can not learn new "tricks" every day . . . . huh Gnarly ??? ??? . . . . . :D
Be safe.

Drop point is Sold!
I still have the Nessmuck and Recurve. I am glueing up handles as we speak before I have to go and work an overnight tonight. The Nessmuck has Bubinga scales and the Recurve has Curly Maple.

Recurve is sold, thanks Eric

Nessie is the last one left!

Here is what the Bubinga looks like thats going on the Nessie.
