I was just looking over one of my knives that has an open pillar construction and couldn't figure out how the blade doesn't hit the pins when closed. There is no stop pin that I can see where the blade rests on. The stop pins for stopping the blade when open are thumbstuds that rest against the handle, but when closed, those thumbstuds don't rest against the handle to keep the blade from traveling far enough to hit the pins. The knife is a linerlock. I haven't had time to open it; have to buy torx drivers, so I'm at a loss.
Just curious is all. There's something I must be missing. There's the pivot pin and two posts that make up the open pillar construction. EDIT: And I doubt it's the ball pivot that prevents the blade from hitting the posts.
