I'm getting marrried in Oct. and want to get my groomsmen knives as groomsmen gifts. We're all outdoorsy/hunting types so I thought this would be a good fit. So, what Kershaw would ya'll recommend? I posted this in the general forum but since I love all my Kershaws so much, I thought I'd post in here to see what ya'll though. I was thinking maybe the shallot or leek, although I'm sure there are other great Kershaws I'm not considering. I really wish G-10 was engravable, then I'd get them all JYD 2's(my fav edc atm), but I don't think it's possible, and 4 of the JYD 2's with Titanium handles would be a bit more than I'd be willing to spend!!

here are the requirements:
1) folder w/ pocket clip
2) stainless steel handles so they can be engraved
3) want to spend no more than $75 per knife(not incl. engraving, have to get 3 of them and one for me of course = 4 knives, so I don't want to spend too much)
4) want them to be good EDC knives(ie; sturdy, comfortable to carry....)

lemme know what ya'll think, thanks!

P.S. free beer Oct. 25 if ya live near Washington, MO! haha

Leek with composite blade is my vote.

The beer is what I miss most about living in Missouri. Having Fat Tire and Boulevard on tap and cheap will spoil any man.

Leek or Shallot:thumbup:

Maybe ones with stainless handles so that you can have them engraved for the occasion.

Congrats,
Jon

As so subtly mentioned above, I must agree. However, the Shallot would be an excellent choice also.

Question: What are you groomsmen like? Are they your buds that would storm the gates of hell for a laugh? Shallot Do they enjoy a fine cigars, power ties, Benzs and Beemers? Composite Leek Basically I look at the leek as a conservative suit-friendly knife, the shallot is more your jeans and jerzees. Does that help at all?
P.S. I would say the damascus leek, but I think that would put you over your limit.

Composite Leek. Really like the aggressive edge on the CPMD2. And love the Leek.

Composite Leek...

- Utilitarian
- Versatile
- Sheeple Friendly
- Wearable with business attire.

Second choice: Shallot

I am going to go off the map a bit here and say a High polished stainless steel leek, model # 1660SS beautiful piece, very classy !!!

Thanks guys! Very helpful as usual. I have been eyeing both the composite leek and the shallot(ecspecially since I don't have either yet). I'll keep my eyes out and see what kind of deal I might be able to get on 4 of them.

I'd have to go with the majority here and say the CB Leek or Shallot.
I think you and your buds will love either of the 2.

Congrats on the engagement.

The black Shallots are going to be cool...they'd look great engraved. Postpone your wedding!

There ya go...I like it...think of the steel underneath showing thru the black coating after engraving...we'll all help convince your fiance to wait...:D
