what kind of a gentleman does this make me?

I don't get the concept of tiny little knives for gentlemen. At my daughter's wedding yesterday I carried what I picked as the classiest knife in my EDC rotation- a PM2 with M4 steel and CF scales, and I carried it in my suit.

The last wedding I attended a carried a CRK Inkosi in my suit pocket as well as a Victorinox Cadet. The caterers ended up using my cadet to open beer bottles (they were friends of the bride and were trustworthy) and my Inkosi ended up repairing the wedding cake after a gust of wind knocked the decorations over.

At my own wedding I had my Military clipped IWB under my suit jacket.

So a Para 2 sounds a little small for such an occasion to me.

My "Gentleman's" carry tends to be my Domino. The black clip blends well with my usual attire, and while it's a bit on the large side, it looks classy enough.

I understand the concept of a Gentleman's knife, and I get why some feel they should have one in their collection. I just don't think I need a particular knife for when I'm wearing a suit.

its in your pocket, thats all it takes to be a gentleman.:)

I think it’s less “what you can conceal” and more “what won’t raise eyebrows in the company of people who may not be used to bigger knives”. Whipping out a big blade that comes to an aggresive point to cut wedding cake could get you arrested in some places, in other places, everyone would want to see your knife and then they’d show you their knife.

Myself, I carry a lockng folder but I also carry a Swiss Army Knife so if I’m ever in a place where it may not be wise to pull out my (new!!) Spydie, I’ll use it. Everyone loves Swiss Army Knives and aren’t concerned with them.

Agreed! I have a little Victorinox Classic that lives on my keys. Infinitely handy, especially the tweezers. It's a great small and classic design.
