What kind of animal or bird built this nest.

I took this photo yesterday in an old building here in northern Missouri. Its about 1.5' x 1.5' . Made out of a hodge podge of materials including trash. Anybody know what may have made it?

 
based on size of sticks, I'd say wild hog. They always "carry sticks' ( that's what we say in the deep south ) when bitter cold and when ready to have litter of piglets.

Its not a wild pig. Maybe a guinea pig. LOL
 
The wind?

Leaves at the back, since they fell in the fall and were blown in, then the grass from spring cutting and the twigs and trash all mixed in.

The uniformity of the pile maybe due to the wind in the corner?

That or feral pack-rat pigs. ;^)

I also say it's not an animal nest...

Any sign of fur or feathers in the "nest"?
 
No sense of scale in this shot nor anything else but a photo. Good of you to be curious and seek an answer, and submit a picture, though, but likely as not you'll find out yourself by carefully watching. I vote Neotoma cinerea (packrat) only because few other critters (the males) deliberately pack in ornaments when building attractive-to-mates nests.
 
There's a corner outside my building that is protected by overgrown trees and we constantly have a pile similar to that. I have found the culprit to be feral homo sapiens. I bet it you scattered it with your foot you might find the droppings in there. Much like cats, many feral homo sapiens cover their dropping to try and hide any trace of their presence.

The original post states it was about one and half foot square. too smalll for wild hogs and bigfoots. I think MQQN hit it . The wind made it. Discussion over.
