In general, what kind of books do you read? And specifically, what are you reading now?
I read pretty much everything, fiction, history, true stories, anything. I also like books that have to do with my interests, which are kayak fishing, knives, guns, and survival.
The book I am reading right now is War of the Rats, about the duel between the Russian sniper and German sniper in the battle of Stalingrad, during WWII. It is somewhat fictional, as the author made up some the of the day to day life of the characters, but it is all based on historical facts.
So what are you all reading?

I read a lot of Biographies, History, Economics and sci-fi and westerns.

Currently reading "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, it was a New Years resolution to finally get it started. :)

I'm pretty much all the the place with what I read, but I tend to enjoy both fiction(Tom Clancy type stuff) and non-fiction work about mountaineering and adventure in general. Currently, I'm reading "A Soldier First", the autobiography of General Rick Hilier, retired head of the Canadian Military.

I'm in a non fiction phase at this point it seems, although I have plenty of fiction from earlier times in my bookcases......right now I'm reading Frank Zappa's autobiography "The Real Frank Zappa book" as well as "The Mammoth book of War Correspondents". The latter is a great collection of dispatches from various wars over (mostly)the 20th century.

"War of the Rats" was a good read. I gave it away, and now I miss it.

I am currently reading "War of the Worlds" for the first time ever, after just finishing "Great Expectations" for the first time. Kind of in a "classics" groove right now.

I'm currently reading the book of Luke. I ordered several books from amazon about the rapture at the advice of Reese Weiland. One of them is called The Fourth Reich and is the book of Revelation put into a story.

currently the posthumous crighton book, Pirate Latitudes.

i read a bit of everything, military history, palahniuk, clancy, mccarthy....

The Last book I read was "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coehlo. It is a morality fable. Before that, "Fit for Life" a typical change of lifestyle/ Diet book. The next read is "MacBook for Dummies" followed by "The Gentle Art of Verbal Self Defense". I generally read everything I come across.

I'm a life-long science-fiction fan, having started with the "juveniles" of Heinlein and Asimov way back in the 50s. Can't even imagine how many books I've read.
I also read a lot of technical stuff; sciences, arts, philosophy....Whatever.

Favorite authors would include (but not be limited to...):

Greg Bear
William Gibson
Gene Wolfe
Roger Zelazney
H.P.Lovecraft
Edgar Allen Poe

Currently reading my way through Zelazney's "Second Chronicles of Amber".

William Gibson is awesome! My favorites are the Sprawl Trilogy.

science, farming, investing, knifemaking, reloading, survival, mainly read books for information, never read novel or fiction type books.

Comics and Sci-Fi and the like.

Currently reading the Repairman Jack series by F Paul Wilson.

Currently reading "How the Irish Saved Civilization"
love
Alastair Reynolds - sci fiction by an actual space scientist - really great
The aubrey/maturin books (didn't check the spelling) like hornblower for adults
George MacDonald Fraser's Flashman books are great
Robert K. Massie's histories are great, especially "the Arms of Krupp" Dreadnaught and Peter the Great

Mostly fiction with the occasional non-fiction thrown in. I also make myself read a "classic" now and then. I just picked up Moby Dick (never read it b4). I just finishing up a Raymond Feist novel "Into a dark realm".

I am not working on anything currently, but I tend to read mostly war history, theology, and a few fiction thrown in the mix. I am taking a brief break since classes start on Monday and I will be overloaded with reading there.

I like my non-fiction books for the most part but I do on occasion read some sci-fi stuff from the likes of Asimov.

I am now reading Afghanistan- The bear trap. It's an interesting read for those interested in such things.

I read mystery\detective fiction. Right now listening to a new Spenser novel by Robert Parker and just picked up James Lee Burke's first published novel-can't remember the title.

I read pretty much anything, most recent book I read was Man's search for meaning, by Viktor Frankl. Good book, worth reading. If your into life meaning and stuff.

I'm currently reading Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon. Before that it was The Stand by Stephen King. I'm currently in a post-apocalyptic trend. :D
