Hey there. First time post here. I'm not much of a knife buff so I'll cut to the chase. I came across this set of Bulldog Brand knives at my grandparents estate after my grandfather passed away and I'm having trouble identifying what kind they are mainly because I am finding nothing as far as a 2 knife set. No emblem or stamp on the Mother of pearl handles. I think I've narrowed them down to first generation but I could be wrong. They are numbered with a "297" right at the bottom of the blades. From the looks of it they have never been used and were well cared for by him. If any bulldog guys or gals out there could give me some info that would be great. Thanks.

Welcome to the porch biffcakes, I'm sorry to hear that your grandfather passed but it's nice that he left you a pair of Bulldog knives.
Very nice, well made German knives. I'd suggest to keep them as a memento of what what your grandfather enjoyed to collect.
Bulldog knives from my research are wonderful knives and those are a pair of lookers no doubt. Would make great Sunday dress or carry knives even in a pocket slip.

bibbcakes, The pattern is a Gunstock Jack, one has a Spear main blade, the other a Clip main blade. Both appear to have Sheepfoot secondary blades and pearl handles. Not a common blade configuration and most Bulldog knives were smaller runs. The quality of Bulldog knives was very good. OH
