Gaze into your crystal ball, and tell me what you think the folder is going to be.

My guess is a 3/16" thick 4" long CBT INFI drop point lockback with INFI liners and your choice of Micarta slabs. Retail price: $597.

i would imagine that they would try to keep the price lower then that, though that may not be the case. generally that price is for higher end limited edition knives like the off duty, or the hogLE's. chances are the price will be closer to the standard models, somewhere between 227-347. i could be completely wrong there - but that what i would expect.

as to the lockback, from what i recall being stated the lock will be proprietary and patented (if posssible), so by that description i dont beleive it will be any previously made lock type. again, i could be way off.

I'm thinking about the cost of a Sebenza, and tacking on some extra for the added cost of working INFI.

I didn't know that the lock was going to be proprietary. I wonder what it will be called, the HOGLOCK?

You're assuming that there really IS a folder... I'll believe it when I see it, which I hope is soon... :D

1/4" thick, drop-point, crinkle-coat, checkered steel handles like the frontstrap of a tactical 1911, and it'll have the year 2010 stamped on the blade.

.

I've seen that pic on badmojo too, it's not the same thing as seeing the folder... or feeling the folder, or batoning the folder through a lead pipe (just to see if it can), or using a cheaterbar to get some REAL momentum when spinewhacking the folder to make sure its lockup is secure... or using the folder to chop through.... well, you get the idea. :D

How about if the folder was made entirely from Infi. Kind of like a CR Sebenza with a frame-lock. Maybe satin finish blade with snakeskin micarta inlays in the Infi handle.
Yeahhhhhh Boyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

I really don't want the frame to be too thick, because I want it for EDC. The blade can be thick though.

I'm waitin patiently to pounce on the folder. It is going to be my next Busse purchase, mark my word. I am on a buying hiatus until I place an order for that bad boy.

Keep'em Sharp,
RJD

I'd adore it if it was the BUsse/INFI version of my Buck/Strider 881SP, 3 inch blade, THICK titanium liners, G10 scales, but with a better lock mechanism than the Buck/Strider's linerlock.

I don't understand why it hasn't been released. Is the lock not perfected yet? That's the only thing I can think of.

Next up in 2011 we'll get the Dalton collaboration AK-47 OTF. You won't want your kids taking this one to school...

There are several features unique to the folder prototypes. Anyone who has seen them has an obligation to keep them confidential.

I don't know, but I would guess that the delay in introducing the folder is due to difficulty in making a folder in quantity which lives up to Busse's reputation for making a bullet-proof, abuse-loving knife, and keeping the price point reasonable.

Also, would you make a folder and send it out into the world with Busse's traditional gurantee? I don't think that I would. So then the decision might boil down to whether to have to back off somewhat on the famous Busse guarantee, or just not issue the folder.:(

Of course this is all guesswork on my part. I don't have any inside info, other than having seen the folder.

The warranty could be offered on the blade and handle, but not on the locking mechanism. Perhaps a fixed price for a refit could be offered. Let's say $97 if you pooch the lock.

i am not sure what it is going to be but i hope it is not goint to cost anywhere near 597.00
